EXODUS Guitarist: 'Playing Live Is What I Live For'
June 30, 2004EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"Yahoo, good to be home! This [European] tour was one motherfuckin' adventure, to put it mildly! We endured everything from bus fires to blown tires, from London riots (between our crew and security, not myself!) to spilled beers on the front of house desk right before we were to go on at Graspop, which resulted in a blown desk and us having to move EVERYTHING over to another stage at the last minute! From insanity and WAY beyond! Other than all that kind of bullshit, it was great. Met a lot of people, made a lot of new fans (some of the shows were so young it was incredible, a whole new generation of EXODUS fans!) and in general, crushed the shit out of a lot of people. Killer shows, really killer festivals (why they cannot do the same stateside I'll never understand) and a whole lot of fun was had.
"Now despite all that, do not get the opinion that I think I'm some sort of superhero for surviving it. Quite the contrary, I got home and I felt like a train wreck! But it's been a couple of days now, and I'm feeling quite refreshed. As a matter of fact, I'm ready to do it again as soon as possible! It does not take me long to start getting cabin fever and very soon I'll be missing the road. Playing live for everybody is what I live for, and it's fucking a joy, I'll tell ya!"
